1.0 The Project Description

General Project Management
If you are not familiar with Project Management as a discipline, you should read the overview that we have provided (click here to download an overview).

As a first step read the project description below.

As you can imagine the project is complex and will have many tasks and hence lessons. So keeping control of all your documentation and files is important. In a real situation you will have to think about a filing system and a document numbering system.

The main project folder

We will begin by creating a main folder for the project in the Documents folder (If you are new to the Android filing system you can review our early course material.

Step 1
Open the Documents folder and click the hamburger menu and tap Create folder. We’ll call it P1 the book club.

Step 2
In a like manner tap on the P1 the book club to open it and create two folders Images and Course Screenshots.

The Images folder will be where the general project images will be stored.

The Course Screenshots folder is a convenient location to store all the screen shots we make while developing the course. To refresh your memory, when you create a screen shot, Android saves them in the Internal Storage/DCIM/Screenshots folder.

3.0 The Lesson Background Information

The purpose of the club is to give members the training and assistance to get their stories into print. It is based on concept of chapbooks. In this project we will use our HMD stationery to draft a proposal explaining the basic concept, inviting suggestions and requesting permission to develop the project further. One cannot but marvel at the huge collective experience these people represent. Somebody from HMD projects is to start a book club for seniors in a Care Home.
